What the City Asks You to Do First
For City of Columbus bulk collection, upholstered furniture has to be completely sealed in plastic, scheduled through 311, and placed out no more than 72 hours ahead — and only at an occupied home.
If you’re moving out or clearing a house, the City says that bulk isn’t eligible at all. That’s where a photo quote and a carry-out crew make sense.

Does my couch need to be wrapped in plastic?

Can you get a sectional out of a basement?
Yes. Sectionals come apart at the joints, and the pieces go up the stairs one at a time.
Do you take futons and recliners?
Yes — a futon is $111 and a recliner $98.
What happens to a couch in good condition?
Clean, undamaged couches are routed to donation when possible; worn ones go to proper disposal.
