OSU Move-Out Junk Removal in the University District
The City sets up temporary drop-off dumpsters around campus every move-out season, but somebody still has to carry the futon down three flights and walk it over. We do the carrying. A futon is $111, a twin mattress $82, and a whole shared unit starts at $241.
Sixty Thousand Students, One Moving Week
Ohio State has 60,046 students on its Columbus campus, founded in 1870 on what is now 1,665 acres. After World War II, hundreds of the owner-occupied houses around it were turned into rooming houses and rental units, which is why so much of the neighborhood is walk-up apartments today.
Leases turn over together at the end of July. For 2026, the City, OSU’s Office of Student Life and the University District Organization run about 50 temporary drop-off sites from July 24 through August 11 — useful, if you have a car and a free afternoon.

Will you come for just one couch?
Yes, as long as the total reaches the $75 minimum — a standard sofa at $126 already does.
We’re on the third floor with no elevator. Is that extra?
No. Carrying down from upper floors is part of every price.
Does usable furniture get donated?
Clean, sturdy pieces are set aside for donation instead of going to the landfill.
